Working principles

Discipline of unyielding geometry

Every plate isolates structural load, concrete mass, and raw volume without digital compositing or post-manipulation. Long exposures preserve natural tonal gradation across shadows, deliberately rejecting artificial sharpening or algorithmic perspective corrections.

Negative space functions as tactile physical substance rather than decorative empty room. Natural daylight conditions dictate the operational calendar, restricting field sessions to specific solar azimuths during seasonal transition windows.

Curatorial review

Holt strips architectural photography of commercial illusion, isolating calibrated volume, stark edge boundaries, and the austere authenticity of ambient overcast daylight.
